Pepperdine's Youth Citizen Seminar
Nothing is more satisfying than speaking to 250 top youth leaders about the principles of life that will help them succeed and make a difference as future leaders. The older one gets the more satisfying mentoring is; you want to leave a legacy that expands on the wings of new innovation and youthful zeal!
Pepperdine University has been offering the program to one leader from each Southern California high school for years. Between their junior and senior years, they come together on the Malibu campus at no charge to the students to hear top thought speakers and to dialogue with other youth about what it means to their lives.
At nearly sixty, you wonder whether youths can still relate to you. But as a teenager at heart with the enthusiasm and humor to match their own, I told them that I just looked old on the outside. I shared ten Secrets of Life and the stories of how I learned them. We had fun, and we learned together. I look forward to doing it again next year. You can't leave such important lessons to chance or to the media; they have a different agenda--One that I fear tears down more than it lifts up American values and opportunity.
If you have teen leaders, look into the program.
